Ministers, honorable guests, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, Assalaamu Calaykum and good evening

Ministers, honorable guests, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, Assalaamu Calaykum and good evening

On behalf of my government and people, I would like to welcome the medical team from the United Arab Emirates to Somaliland and to the Presidency. Please feel like you have come home from home. I want you to know that we deeply appreciate your assistance, particularly this time of the year when we are challenged by a severe drought that decimated our wealth of livestock, rendered so many of our people destitute, and left equally as many sick and vulnerable. Our needs are many, but what we need most today is lifesaving intervention.
By the grace of Almighty ALLAH and by the blessing of His Prophet, Mohamed, Peace Be Upon Him, you brought the gift of health and life to many of our citizens who can smile today, enjoy life fully and contribute to our community. We would like to thank you for the good work you are doing through Sheikh Zayed Giving Initiative, founded by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and pursued with same zeal by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, May ALLAH bless him.

The initiative underpins the truce principles of Islam: the principles of volunteering, helping, sharing, sacrificing and saving life. These beautiful values are nowadays overshadowed, sadly, by acts of violence and destruction perpetrated in the name of Islam.
I should also express our gratitude for the other humanitarian and development projects including wells, dams, hospitals, and provision of food which the United Arab Emirates funds and supports in Somaliland. And with the economic and security cooperation we signed recently with DP World and the government of the United Arab Emirates, I believe this is just the beginning of a long term, mutually beneficial relationship between our two brotherly countries.
Thank you and May ALLAH bless you...
